CHALLENGE

After a difficult season and facing relegation, Birmingham City FC needed to ensure their season ticket campaign was a commercial success. Fan skepticism was high, and with a recent takeover by U.S. hedge fund Knighthead Capital, it was essential to generate revenue to support the club’s future. The campaign had to do more than just sell tickets, it needed to restore belief, reignite passion, and reinforce a sense of unity among supporters. Stormworks Studios was tasked with creating a compelling video that would encourage existing season ticket holders to renew, re-engage past fans, and attract new supporters.

OUTCOME

To reconnect with fans, we built a narrative of heritage, resilience, and unity, acknowledging past challenges while looking ahead with confidence. A Birmingham-based voiceover set the tone, speaking directly to the club’s heart. Filmed in a local pub, the campaign felt authentic and personal, featuring diverse supporters to reinforce inclusivity. The cinematic yet raw aesthetic mirrored the club’s journey, with "Take a Seat" creating urgency. A multi-platform rollout across social media, stadium screens, and email marketing drove engagement, culminating in an early renewal push that strengthened momentum and reinforced fans’ role in the club’s future.
